Amanda Brugel
Pointe Claire, a quiet neighborhood located in the West Island of Montreal is the home of a variety of small-scale businesses. A lot of people aren't aware of the significance of the word, and think it is a separate Island west of Montreal. The truth is, the West Island includes the entire part of the island from Lachine until the west. The West Island is frequently referred to as the place where Amanda Brugel was born. Amanda Brugel, but while it's true that she was born there however, her time there was short. Brugel was raised in Courtice located outside of Oshawa, Ontario. Initial goals included becoming an experienced dancer. But, an increase surge meant she had outgrown her dance partner. She acknowledged in a piece published by the Toronto Star that she was 6'1" tall when wearing heels. As I grew older than my male friends then I slowed down. A lot of former dancers go on to acting. In the case of Brugel, it was an nudge from a high school drama teacher that led her in the proper direction. The teacher encouraged her to try out for roles of the production at her school. She tried it out and was cast as the lead lady in Anne of Green Gables. This resulted in the award of a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theater Program which she graduated with an Associate of Fine Arts degree in 2000.In the 20+ years since, Brugel has landed roles in over 60 shows that have screened on both small and large screen, attracting the greatest interest when she was offered the part of Rita on the award-winning television series, The Handmaid's Tale
